About Activism

Raising a voice, again and again.

For more than a century Palestinians have organised: strikes and petitions under British rule, unions and women’s committees, and in 1987 a popular uprising, the First Intifada, built on boycotts and civil disobedience.

In 2005 Palestinian civil society called for boycott, divestment and sanctions, a movement Omar Barghouti helped found. Abroad, Alex Odeh spoke for Arab Americans in California, Linda Sarsour co-chaired the 2017 Women’s March, and Rashida Tlaib took the cause to the US Congress.

The people in this path campaign, organise, negotiate and speak out: in the streets, in courtrooms and in parliaments.
