About Friends of Palestine

Standing with Palestine.

Palestinians have never been alone. From Muhammad Ali in the refugee camps of Lebanon in 1974 to Stephen Hawking withdrawing from a conference in Jerusalem in 2013, people around the world have chosen to stand with them, often at a cost.

Filmmakers, musicians, writers and politicians have turned down invitations, signed letters, raised money and spoken out. Mira Nair refused to be guest of honour at the Haifa International Film Festival, and in 2024 Macklemore released “Hind’s Hall”, named after a six-year-old girl killed in Gaza.

This path gathers Friends of Palestine: people who are not Palestinian, but chose to make its cause their own.
